We are seeking a motivated person to join our team, who enjoys retail customer service and has a passion for animals and their owner's needs.

Full training will be provided but a good knowledge of general animal care and well-being would be an advantage.

This role will involve working within the hours of 8am to 6pm Mon to Fri and 9-3 Saturday as per a roster.

Some lifting is involved so the person we seek must be physically able and active.

Senior Veterinary Nurse – Wanganui
Wanganui Veterinary Services is a long established “Best Practice” mixed animal veterinary practice, servicing the small and large animal needs of the greater Wanganui region.

We are a diverse and active player in the veterinary industry operating two vet clinics, two Pet Essentials shops, a farm supplies business and a heifer grazing business.

We have an opportunity for a senior veterinary nurse who will lead the clinical support team in both hospitalised and surgical nursing as well as assisting in the training of student veterinary nurses.

To be considered for this position you will need to have;

Animal Management and Business Development

Wanganui Veterinary Services has a position to fill in the Vetcare Grazing team. Vetcare Grazing has grown over the past 20 years into a significant grazing business delivering weight gain growth rates that are at the top of the industry standard.

The position has plenty of variety including monitoring weight gains, ongoing marketing of the grazing scheme, canvasing prospective clients and some data entry.

The person we are looking for must be self-motivated and able to work without supervision, have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop positive relationships with clients and staff. They should have some ability to develop marketing initiatives and the ability to sell the grazing concept to both graziers and dairy farmers.

A thorough knowledge of, and experience with cattle nutritional and health management in New Zealand is essential. This would include the ability to discuss and recommend feed budgets and supplementation with graziers.

An appropriate tertiary qualification would be an advantage but not essential for the right applicant.
